Canon 50D review

In the conclusion the camera is presented as a more featured than it's predecessor 40D but with the same image quality. Compared to its competition it is also lower placed in terms of features and also in price tag.

EOS 50D Firmware Update Version 1.0.3

Canon released a new firmware version fro it's 50D camera which corrects the following problems:
1. Overexposed images when when C.Fn.II-3 Highlight tone priority is set to "1".
2. Corrects a rare phenomenon in which "busy" blinks on the camera's display panel and the shutter cannot be released due to the timing of battery installation.
3. Corrects a rare phenomenon in which "Err 99" appears on the camera's display panel and LCD monitor and the shutter cannot be released due to the timing of pressing the shutter button.

Canon EOS 50D announced

August 26th Canon announced the upgrade of 40D. Although the new 50D looks quite the same as 40D, under the hood there is a bunch of improvements: 15 Megapixel CMOS sensor, DIGIC 4 processor, Live View with 3 AF modes, ISO up to 12800 and HDMI output.

  • 6.3 fps burst speed up to 90 JPEGs
  • ISO 100-3200 sensitivity, expandable to 12800
